Charlotte Conner's Obituary
Charlotte (Brown) Conner was born to Fred C. Brown and Ella (Carruthers) Brown on March 4, 1936. She married Richard Alton Conner on July 5, 1952, in Paducah, Kentucky. Alton Conner preceded her in death on May 7, 2007. Charlotte graciously departed this life on April 22, 2023.
Charlotte began her Christian journey at a very young age, where she expressed her commitment to Christ at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Paducah, Kentucky. She was a devoted Christian and a servant of God. She was also a member of The Word of Light Christian Center in Jackson, Michigan for over 20 years. Charlotte served on the Mother’s Board, Board of Trustees, and Nursing Home Ministry. Pastors Wayne and Beverly White were her spiritual leaders. Mother Charlotte Conner was a faithful member and “PRAYER WARRIOR” on a daily basis, praying for her family. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 91.
Charlotte and Richard moved to Jackson, Michigan in 1955, where they would reside for the remainder of their lives. She worked for Jacobson’s specialty clothing store for 35 years before retiring. Charlotte exemplified the fashion style that was a part of her job at Jacobson’s. Family members would frequently admire the style and grace in how she dressed. She was an awesome example of a Christian wife and mother, leading by her example toward her children and many others.
Charlotte departed this life at 87 years young. She leaves three children to mourn and cherish her memories, two sons and one daughter. Marcus (Denise) Conner of Sylvania, Ohio; Rene (Alecia) Conner of Jackson, Michigan; and Castine (Steve) Olivo of Las Vegas, Nevada. Charlotte has one remaining sibling, Roger Brown of Cleveland, Ohio. She leaves 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Charlotte leaves a host of nieces and nephews, along with two special people that touched her life, Oddie Trice, Claudia Rowlette (Niece), and several other friends and family.
Charlotte will be truly missed by her family.
