Annette Collins' Obituary
Annette Lisa Collins was born March 13, 1963 in Lincoln Park, Michigan to the union of the late Rev. Walker Leroy Collins, Sr. and Myrline Collins. She was affectionately called Lisa by her family.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of the A.M.E. church where she enjoyed traveling to various conferences, and participating in the YPD (Young People’s Division), and Women’s Missionary society.
She was a proud graduate of the Historical Black College, Morris Brown in Atlanta, Georgia, and a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority.
Lisa enjoyed reading, genealogy, and doing charitable work with her sorority. She also loved talking about her time growing up in Southwest Detroit where she attended Mark Twain elementary, Boynton and Wilson Jr. High, and graduated from Southwestern high school. While growing up in southwest Detroit she acquired many friends including her best friend Don Stockard whom she called family.
She was extremely grateful for the dedicated service she received from her loving caregiver Tracy Lewis who was both her confidante and friend.
Lisa retired from the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services where she was committed to helping those in need.
Proceeded in death by her father; Rev. Walker Leroy Collins, Sr. and brother Walker L. Collins, Jr.
She is survived by her mother; Myrline, son; Robert Joshua, sister; Cynthia Tarver, bonus siblings; Martell, Jaray, and Asia Collin, she also leaves to cherish her memory her uncle; Alex (Helen) Roberson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
