Zellars Simms was born to Martha and the late Willie Lee Simms, Sr. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Lee Simms, Sr., and brother; Larry Simms. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother; Martha Lee Simms of Birmingham, Alabama, sister; Veda Carter of Birmingham, Alabama, brothers; Lane, Wilbert and Willie Lee Simms, Jr. of Detroit, Michigan and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members.
