Vernon Allison Scholes' Obituary
Mr. Vernon Allison Scholes was born June 16, 1935, in Kingston, Jamaica to the late Herbert and Icilda (Mathon) Scholes. On March 17, 2022 at age 86, he peacefully passed away at the Allegiance Health Hospice in Jackson, Michigan with family at his side.
Vernon migrated from Jamaica to Cuba, from there he moved to New York in 1969 to start his American Dream. He moved to Michigan in the late 70’s where he met and married the love of his life, Janette Hall. They had a beautiful life together until her death in 2014.
Vernon was multifaced. He worked well over thirty years as a truck driver (accident free). He was passionate about his power tools, tinkering in his garage, and loved the New York Knicks. At the time of his death, he had five miniature Dachshunds that he truly loved and spoiled rotten.
In addition to his parents, Vernon was also preceded in death by his wife; Janette Scholes, six siblings; Franklin Scholes, Carmen Scholes Munroe, Donald Scholes, Marion Scholes Sang, Kathleen Scholes (deceased in infancy), and Daphne Scholes, and one stepson; Marty Bland. Vernon leaves to cherish his memory his sister; Phyllis Scholes, one son; Patrick Scholes (Ezord), three daughters; Debbie McGregor (Delroy), Tamika Hudson (Paul), and Cherice Scholes, his stepdaughter; Zina Bland, two stepsons; Troy Bland (Wendy) and Omar Hall (Natalie), as well as eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Lovingly Submitted, The Family
