TaRae Malik Potter's Obituary
Ta Rae Malik Potter was born December 21, 1994 In Jackson Michigan to Shonte Montese Potter and Ebonisha Lavina Ware. TaRae departed this life on March 28, 2020. TaRae was preceded in death by his father Shonte Montese Potter.
Ta Rae graduated from Jackson High School in 2012, and went on to attend Kalamazoo Valley Community college where he played on the men’s basketball team. Later he transferred to Jackson Community College where he played for the Jackson College Jets. TaRae was voted 3rd team AllAmerican after averaging 22.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game finishing the 2015-16 season as a freshman. TaRae was known as “t pot” to his peers. “Basketball was his first love.”
TaRae is survived his son; Cario Malik Potter of Jackson, Michigan, his mother; Ebonisha ware, sisters; Mahoganey Ware, Jadeda Ware, Johnnisha Ware-Estes, and Jaonnie Ware-Estes all of Jackson Michigan, grandmothers; Regina (Everett) Breedlove, and Deborah Potter, grandfathers; Marion Ware, Jr., and Sam McKaney both of Jackson, aunts; Sade Jackson of Jackson, Michigan, and Monica Ware of Columbus, Ohio, uncles; Yhosef Ware, Anthony Allen, Dequan McKaney all of Jackson, Michigan, Marlon Ware of Flint, Michigan, Ruben Ware of Columbus, Ohio and Derry Pettie and Kerry Pettie both of Jackson, Michigan, two special great-grandmothers; Joyce Potter, and Charlene Moore both of Jackson, Michigan, god mother; Melissa Allen of Jackson, Michigan, and one special cousin; Toneisha (Derrick) Lester of Jackson, Michigan, and a host of great aunts , great uncles, great- uncles, cousins , and special friends.
