Sherry Lou Gilbert's Obituary
Sherry Lou Gilbert age 60 of Jackson joined her family in heaven on March 18, 2024 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. She was born May 13, 1963 in Jackson, MI to the late Thelma and Wallace Gilbert. She is survived by Sisters, Ruth, Carol, Pauline, Donna (Andy) and brothers Durwin (Kay), Billie (Kay), Sister-in-Law Carol and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her sisters Faith, Linda, Brenda and brothers Dennis, Warren and Roger.
Sherry graduated from Lyle Torrent Center where she enjoyed being a helper and after learning sign language, she helped the teachers communicate with the other children. She loved her family unconditionally and had a smile for everyone. Everyone she met left as a friend. If the music was on, Sherry was dancing and many times singing. She had a love for Disney movies and in later years she never missed Law and Order. Always wanting to be busy she had many projects she invented and worked on diligently every day.
Cremation has taken place and a private burial will take place at a later date. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home for the loving care provided for Sherry. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her. Contributions in her name are suggested to the Cascades Humane Society or Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home.
