Samuel Jones' Obituary
Samuel Jones, Jr., also known as the Bluesman, was born on
April 8, 1949, to the union of the late Samuel Jones, Sr. and the late Glendora Jones in Detroit, Michigan.
He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and continued to serve
the Lord throughout his life. After graduating from Cody High School he immediately joined and served in the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division, as a Paratrooper (Screaming Eagles). Samuel later accepted a career working for the City of Detroit Housing Commission where he served 25 years as a manager for the housing department. He enjoyed family gatherings and loved to travel while listening to his blues.
Bluesman made his spiritual transition on August 6, 2016, at home
surrounded by his family.
Samuel leaves to mourn his memory, his beloved wife; Linda Jones,
his siblings; Walter Jones, Rasheedah Shareffe, Adell Jones, and Mike Jones,eleven children; Sam (Linda), Elliot (Stacey), Fredrick (Rhonda), Trena(Willie), Quinton (Charlene), Gerard (Rosalyn), Sameera, Denise, Malaya,Darrell and Christine; forty-three grandkids, fourteen great grandkids, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and family and friends.
