Ronald Gene Coleman's Obituary
Ronald Gene Coleman (Ronnie) was born in Detroit, Michigan to the loving
parents of L.W. Coleman and Annie (Johnnie) Mae Coleman on January 5, 1953, in which both
parents preceded him in death.
Ronald, known as “Ronnie, graduated from Central High School and went straight into trade
school and became a Master Tailor. In 1972, Ronnie went to work for the automobile industry
at Chrysler Assembly Plant into the late 1980’s when he retired. Ronnie’s accomplishments
included becoming a Master Tailor, being a honorable member of the UAW graduate disabled
school for the blind, an active participate at the Detroit Library for the blind and handicapped,
and graduate from a computer class for the blind. Ronnie loved taking long walks and was known
for collecting all types of items.
On April 16, 2020, Ronald Gene Coleman died unexpectedly from a medical emergency. He
will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. Ronnie leaves to cherish his
memory, his son’s; Ronald La-Mar Dowdel and Radamis Anthony Dowdel, daughters; Autumn
Coleman and Nytia Coleman, sisters; Lavern Washington and Sarah Ann Peet (who proceeded
him in death), brothers; Lamar Coleman and Albert Anthony Coleman, nieces; Cristy Nicole
Peet (his favorite niece), Johnnie Peet-Outley, and Monet Coleman, nephew; Albert Coleman
Jr., 14 grandkids, 1 great grandchild and a host of great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins,
