Richard Selby's Obituary
RICHARD JAMES SELBY a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend to all, transitioned from this life on Monday March 7, 2016 at the age of 72. Richard was born January 25, 1944 in Jackson, Michigan to Robert Selby and Lily Mae Simmons (Sisson) who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his loving Wife of 44 years, Ocie Selby, and one brother; William Selby.
Richard retired from Simpson Industries and Eaton Corporation. He loved spending time with his family, and never missed a sporting event for his children or grandchildren. He was an avid golfer, loved to barbeque, travel and take casino trips. Richard was a member of Lily Missionary Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board.
Richard leaves to cherish his memories, four children; Duane Selby (Tracy), Doreen Selby, Darin Selby (Kelly), all of Jackson Michigan, and Regina Mays of Atlanta Georgia, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, brothers; Robert Selby (Shirley) of Livonia Michigan, Allen Selby (Cynthia) of Douglasville, Georgia, Nick Selby of Jackson Michigan, Gregory Selby (Diane) of Jackson Michigan, Rhoda Johnson (Radar) of Bay City, Michigan, Rodney Rogers of Jackson, Michigan, Melody Akins (Johnny) of Jackson, Michigan, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
