Richard was educated in the Detroit Public School System. Richard loved takingwalks around the neighborhood with his grandson or even alone but what heloved the most was fixing cars or whatever else needed to be fixed. He had a Godgiven gift when it came to working on anything that involved using his hands. Hecould be found tinkering around the house repairing anything he felt needed tobe repaired. Richard was an avid car buff. He was found a lot of the time undersomeone’s car. He loved helping people when he could. Richard belonged to the“Mysterious Travelers” Van Club where he loved traveling to different cities andCabernets. He was affectionately known as “Gigolo”. Richard was employed atDodge Maine Chrysler and Sanders Building Services for many years. Richard married Pauletta on June 20th 1987. He was blessed with two bonus sonsTerrence and Andre. In 1990 the union was blessed with a baby girl and namedher Raven Symone. She was for sure daddy’s girl. In 1991, they were blessed onemore time with a baby boy and named him Aaron Richard. His brother; Willie Leon, his sister; Joyce Keys and his brother-in-laws; GaryBernard Humphrey and Elliott Humphrey preceded him in death. Richard leaves to cherish his memory his wife; Pauletta Durham, daughter; RavenSymone Durham, son; Aaron Richard Durham, two bonus sons; Terrence Humphreyand Andre Holmes, his grandson/best friend; Cameron Jameer Durham, his siblings;Willie Clarence (Gwendolyn) Smith of Greensboro, Georgia, Mary(Kenneth)Hutchinson, Lenell Durham, Barbra(Richard) Chapman, and RoseMary Durham,mother in law; Thelma Humphrey, sister in law; Katrina Humphrey, and a host ofgrandkids, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
