Reather Bradford's Obituary
Reather Mae (Wilson) Bradford was born on November 17th, 1939 to Countee Sr. and Tereather Wilson in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age. She moved to Albion, Michigan in the late 1960’s with her 4 young children.
Soon after arriving, she became a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church until her untimely passing. She was a servant of the Lord, often leading prayer, attending church events, and serving on the kitchen committee for over 4 decades.
She held many job titles throughout her life; however, the most important title she held was that of wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She married Lionel Bradford on May 10th, 1989. They were together for over 30 years before his passing.
Reather is preceded in death by her loving husband Lionel Bradford, her parents; Countee Sr. and Tereather Wilson, three brothers; Countee Wilson Jr., Lee Charles Wilson, and Earnest Wilson, special aunt/best friend Marie Thomas, and a number of aunts and uncles.
Mrs. Reather Mae Bradford leaves to forever cherish her memory her four children; Will (Debra) Jones III, and Dale Jones of Jackson, Mississippi, Linda (Jones) Banks and Janice Pledger both of Albion, Michigan, one sister; Parthine “Polly” Brown of Albion, Michigan, one uncle; Erise Wilson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, eleven grandchildren; Sidney (Dekia) Banks, Will (Candace) Jones IV, Terrica Pledger, Sherrington Jones, Erica Pledger, Tereather Jones, Demetrius Washington II, Earle (Travis) Jackson, Jarvis Langston, Daniel Jones, and Alexis Jones, eleven great-grandchildren; Te’aonna Pledger, Kiambu Burks Jr., Demaries Jones, Timothy Pledger, Braylon Banks, Jaden Pledger, Jadence Lynn, Brooklynn Banks, Travis Jackson III, Iyaana Green, and Will Jones V, one sister-in-law; Nettie Wilson, one God-daughter; Desha Perkins-Hollie, one God-son; Derrell Jackson, special nieces; Polly Ann Wilson, Cynthia Jackson, and Brenzetta “Ann” Wilson, special nephew; Countee Wilson III, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Although Mrs. Reather Mae has departed from this world, her life and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
