Percy Howard's Obituary
Percy Howard was born January 29, 1927 in Autaugaville,
Alabama to the late William and Beulah Howard. Percy joined Saint
Joseph AME Church at an early age and always supported its mission.
He received his early education in the Autauga County public school
system. After graduation he entered the army and served honorably
in World War II. Later, Percy settled in New York City for eight years.
He moved to Detroit, Michigan where he met and married his beloved
wife, the late Essie Mae Howard. Percy’s working life was spent with
General Motors. He enjoyed all sports and various styles of music.
Percy joins in heaven his beloved wife Essie Mae, Parents, Sister
Bertha Clemons, Brothers Edward Pearlie, Ernest, Grady and William
Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory one sister-in-law Valerie Howard
of Cleveland, Ohio; Four nephews, William A. Howard (Ernestine) of
Elyria, Ohio; Willie J. Howard of East Orange, New Jersey; Edward
L. Clemons (Odessa) of Greenville, North Carolina; Kenneth Howard
(Alana) of Atlanta, Georgia; Niece Tracy Howard of Cleveland, Ohio
along with a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and
friends.
