Patricia Mae Morrison's Obituary
Patricia Mae Morrison (Patty) went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 17, 2021. She was born August 3,1928 in Jackson, Michigan to Archie W. and Gladys M. Dungy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 53 years, Carl F. Morrison, Sr., brothers Robert M. Dungy and Archie W. Dungy, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Sherrie Tyler and wife, Pennye Mattson of Commerce Township, Michigan; stepson, Carl F. Morrison of Maywood, Illinois; two special nieces, Diane Kimbrough of Surprise, Arizona and Marcia Stokes of Kodak, Tennessee; six great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren and many other cousins and special friends.
Patricia graduated from Jackson High School, Jackson Business University and attended Jackson Community College in Jackson, Michigan. She was employed at Allegiance Health Hospital (formerly Foote Hospital) in Nursing Administration for 34 years. After retirement, she served as a volunteer at Allegiance Health Hospital for 18 years and was a member of the Executive Board of Volunteer Services.
Patricia was a devoted member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, served on the board and gave many hours of her time in other church capacities. She mentored students at McCulloch Elementary School for many years and loved to travel across the country and work in her many flower gardens.
My mom, Aunt Pat, Nana, Patty was loved by many and will be sorely missed by her family, colleagues and friends but will be forever in our memories and hearts.
