Patricia Ann Cobb's Obituary
Patricia A. Cobb entered this life in the spring of 1954 on May 1st, in Midville, Georgia. She was the sixth child of thirteen children born to the late John C. and Arie L. Gresham Cobb. Patricia accepted Christ at the early age of 17, at Southwestern Church of God. She was later baptized at Joseph Campau Church of God, in Detroit Michigan.
She received her formal education, at Midville Elementary School and Waynesboro Junior High, school in Waynesboro, Georgia. She later moved to Detroit, Michigan to live with her sister, Geraldine Hunter where she graduated from Central High School, 1971. In the fall of 1971, she attended Wayne State University, where she studied for two years, majoring in criminal justice.
She then decided to get a job working for White Castle, where she served faithfully for over 20 years. She later started working for Henry Ford Hospital in the Pathology Department as a Technical Assistant, where she made many friends and acquaintances. She retired in May, 2020. Patricia found pleasure in taking care of her daughter, Sommer and her two grandchildren Ariel and Justin. In her leisure time, she enjoyed helping others by sending cards, flowers and going out to dinner with her family and friends. Patricia was a great prayer warrior. Each night before bedtime, she would call her sister Gerri and pray about the needs of the family and the conditions around the world.
Patricia in her own quiet way leaves a legacy of the many kind deeds that were done by helping others. Her kind deeds were never mentioned, unless the person told it themselves.
Patricia was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen E. Evans, of Waynesboro, Georgia and Charlene Jackson of Detroit, Michigan. Patricia departed this life into God’s care, at 5:30 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2023.
Her memories will be cherished by her devoted daughter; Sommer J. Lackey, her granddaughter; Ariel S. Wiggins and grandson; Justin C.
