Ollie Mae Hill's Obituary
Ollie Mae Hill, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother,
great-great grandmother, sister and aunt, of Farmington Hills, Michigan,
went home to be with the Lord on August 17, 2022.
Sis. Ollie was born and raised in Jackson, Michigan to Ida and Sherman
Bicy, Sr. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1949. She was a
faithful member of Second Missionary Baptist Church for many years
under the late Rev. A.P. Williams and current Pastor Darius Williams, Sr.
Sis Ollie was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Hill, Sr.,
parents Ida and Sherman Bicy, Sr., sisters Quincy Ayers, Phoebe Davis,
Maybelle Suddeth, Josephine Abrams, brothers Lee Jackson, Clarence
(Amo), Lynwood, Sherman, Jr., and Lawrence Bicy; daughter-in-law Lynn
Wilson-Hill and son-in-law Bruce Clark.
Sis. Ollie retired from Michigan Bell. She served on the Executive
Committee for the NAACP, sang in the choir, worked for Dr. Rucker,
volunteered at Foote Hospital was an avid bowler, golfer, swimmer and
athlete. Ollie, Jimmy Sr., and the family, formerly owned Hill’s Party Store,
Hill’s Cleaners and rental apartments. She was also a member of the Mr. &
Mrs. Club, Las Hermanas Club, Jackson Amateur Golf League and Jackson
Amateur Golf Club.
Sis. Ollie leaves to cherish her memory: children, Geraldine U. Hill-
Clark of Farmington Hills, MI, James M. Hill, Jr. of Jackson, MI and
Dennis (Melanie) Hill of Albion, MI; sister, Betty Bicy Joplin of Lansing,
MI; five grandsons, Davelle Bridges, Shanear and Dennis Trice, Tyree Hill
and Desmond Wilson; two granddaughters, Brooke Stevenson and Lois
Johnston; ten great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, a host
of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will be surely missed by all
her family and all that knew and loved her.
