Natha Mae Walsh's Obituary
Momma was born, Natha Mae Prince, on July 23, 1932 to the union of
Murphy and Rosa Prince in Greensboro, Alabama. She moved to Detroit,
Michigan as a young child and was educated through the Detroit School
System. She was preceded in death by Nathaniel (son), Theodis (Ted step
Son), Kazuko (daughter-in-law), Antonio (grandson), Ulysses (loving
husband), Jewel (step daughter), and Jeffrey, Jr. (great grandson).
Natha met and married her Prince, Ulysses Walsh, in 1961. Momma worked
for several Food Chains as a Butcher, Meat Cutter, and Meat Wrapper for
32 years. She served the Lord as an Usher, Deaconess, and Mother of The
Church through Bulmette Baptist, Joseph Campau Avenue Church of God,
and Church of God of Detroit. She was an avid Prayer Warrior and sought
by many. Momma loved her family. But first and foremost she loved The
Lord.
She had many wonderful qualities: generous, affectionate, loving, a giver,
passionate and everyone’s friend; never met a stranger. She enjoyed being
competitive with her family in many games such as Bid Whist, Phase Ten,
and Dominoes. She spent quality time with her grandkids, which was
her highlight of any event. She was everyone’s Best Friend, Advisor, and
Counselor. Big Mama truly Loved God and served daily through prayer
and worship.
On Saturday November 13, 2021, Momma peacefully transitioned to be with
her loved ones in Heaven.
