Was born on February 29th, 1980, to Thomas James Smith and Darlene Smith in Jackson, Michigan. He was the youngest of eight children: the baby boy. He is preceded in death by his daughter Monique Smith and his brother Kevin Powell. He departed this life on August 28, 2022, at the age of 42.
Markeithis (TJ) had 9 children that he loved dearly. He was a loyal son; his father’s best friend and he had an extra special place in his mother’s heart. He was a go to for the family especially his sisters and nieces and served as a foundation for his nephews. He had a big heart and was always willing to help friends and family.
He enjoyed exploring outside and was a lover of animals. He always had a dog, fish or some kind of wildlife. He also was a great handyman. When the family was asked to describe TJ, the words that came to mind were fun, trustworthy, loving, and an amazing and caring person overall.
He was employed at MEA in Brooklyn, Michigan as a machine operator.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, 9 children, Markeithis Smith, DeMarquan Smith, Zarreonna Smith, Si’Mya Smith, Aniya Smith, Marzavis Smith, Marquis Smith, A’layjah Smith, A’vaiyah Smith, 1 grandson, Thailand Wilkerson, a special lady friend, Quintella Cleve, 4 sisters, Iesha Smith, Carolyn Mills (Abdullah), La’Shala Smith (Donavon), Shamara Smith, 2 brothers, Marshawn Roberson, and Anthony Neal. Markeithis and Abdullah had a special bond that was unbreakable. He also had a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all.
