Marvin Daniel Poole, Sr.'s Obituary
Marvin D. Poole Sr. passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the age of 94.
Marvin “Cool Poole” was born on July 14, 1923 in Jackson, Michigan, where he was a life long resident.
He attended the Jackson Public School system. He was married to Ida Poole for 49 years; this union produced 11 children.
A WWII Army combat veteran, he served 3 years until his injury in France. Upon returning home he worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Company for 3 years and Corning Glass Company for 23 years until his retirement.
He loved taking and collecting pictures. Marvin was big time Detroit Tigers fan, he watched every game! He loved people and always gave everyone a nickname. His favorite saying was “Do It My Way Baby”.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Lorraine Dawkins, father; William H. Poole, wife; Ida Poole, daughters; Joyce and Linda, and sons; Lynn, Freddy, and Keith Poole.
He is survived by sons; Danny (Helen), Dennis (Elaine), and Maurice Poole, daughters; Connie Norris, Dianna (Jimmy) Seay, and Lorraine (Rocky) Hester, brothers; Mervin and Benny (Christine) Poole and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
