Marie N Oliver's Obituary
Marie Neother Oliver was born August 4, 1939, in Timmonsville, South Carolina. She was one of four
children born to the late Tillie and Fred Bradley, Sr. She passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday,
July 27, 2023.
Marie accepted Christ at the early age of 13 and she remained a faithful servant of our Lord and Savior.
She attended school in Lake City, SC. She later met and married the love of her life Elward E. Oliver on
July 4, 1960, in Hollywood, Florida. To this union they affectionately raised their children Earl, Deana,
Darrell and Cheryl Oliver all of Jackson, MI.
In 1961, Marie joined Second Missionary Baptist Church where she has served faithfully as a member,
pianist, choir member and various church ministries. Marie worked as a machinist technician at Kelsey
Hayes for over 30 years and retired in 2000. In 1985 she obtained her cosmetology certification in Plano,
Tx. In addition to assuring that her family and friends' needs were met. Marie enjoyed cooking family
dinners, fishing, bowling, traveling, and singing Gospel music. Her most memorable trip was to the Holy
Land in New Jerusalem in 1996 along with her sisters-in-law whom she affectionately referred to as her
sisters.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Fred (Sr.) and Tillie Bradley; Husband of 55 years, Elward
Oliver; Brother, Fred Bradley Jr., and 1 Grandson.
Marie leaves to cherish her memories: Sons, Earl (Katrina) Oliver, Darrell (Arlene Robinson) Oliver, Deana
and Cheryl Oliver all of Jackson, MI and Ricky (Monica) Oliver of Alexandra, VA, and Evelyn Carter-Harrell
of Miami, FL. Sister; Carrie (Sammie) McPherson of Anna, TX, Brother; James (Kay) Bradley, Jr of Plano,
TX, Brothers-in-law, Wendell (Hattie) Oliver, James B. Oliver of Jackson, MI. Sisters-in-law, Wilhelmena
Cross (George) Byrd of Jacksonville, FL, Janet Nichols of Kalamazoo, MI and Ella Jean Oliver of Jackson,
MI. Grandchildren; 23, Great-grandchildren; 39 and Great-great granddaughter 1, a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends; Special friend Pearlie Mae Epps of Lake City, SC. Mary Smith, Ethel Moss,
Patricia Moore and Ms. Helen Norris all of Jackson, MI
