Marcus Lynn DeWalt's Obituary
Marcus L. DeWalt, of North Richland Hills, Texas, went to be with the Lord, peacefully, in his sleep on the morning of September 27, 2022, in his home, that he shared with his wife.
On June 7, 1962, in Albion, Michigan, Sandra Ridley gave birth to a set of handsome twin boys Marcus and Michael DeWalt (who preceded him in death at age 2). Marcus was blessed to be raised by a “village” which included his grandparents Thomas and Carrie Anderson, who he shared a very special bond with.
On January 1, 2005 Marcus married the love of his life and his best friend Charmane Garrett. In the early years of this union, they lived in Bloomington, Illinois until they relocated to Texas where they found their forever home. During this union together they were able to celebrate 17 years of marriage, blend the two-family units together, enjoy countless milestones, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and numerous births of grandchildren and great grandchildren. This love story between Marcus and Charmane has been an inspiration to many. Marcus always took pride in himself and his appearance, he enjoyed cooking especially grilling and cleaning up his vehicle. Marcus was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He loved his family dearly and he never met a person that he didn’t have a connection with. Marcus will truly be missed by all who knew him
In 2011 Marcus realized that he had finally found his passion and purpose for life, when he became a Certified Nursing Assistant/Caregiver. As a CNA he found great satisfaction in assisting patients with regaining and maintaining their independence while managing to bring a smile to their faces with a joke or words of encouragement. Marcus remained dedicated to his patients and their families until he had no other choice but to retire.
Marcus leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife; Charmane, mother; Sandra, three sons; DeMarcus DeWalt, Talique Estelle and Casey Wright, grandson; Tae’Von Dewalt, sister; Leah (Reginald) Payne, brothers; Patrick DeWalt, Korey Lindsey and a host of nieces, nephews, step children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, extended family and friends.
Marcus was preceded in death by his twin brother; Michael DeWalt, his son; Tre’Von Estelle and his beloved grandparents; Thomas and Carrie Anderson.
