Gennie Mae McGuire's Obituary
Gennie Mae McGuire, 77 of Jackson, Michigan was called home on May 10, 2019 after fighting a brief illness. Gennie Mae was born April 26, 1942 in Paducah Kentucky, to Hardin and Eddie McGuire. When Gennie was young her family relocated to Michigan where she graduated from East Jackson High School in Jackson MI. She continued her education and became a nurse’s aide. She had a passion for caring for and helping others and she used this gift as she worked at the TB stand and Mercy Hospital. She later left the health care field and went to work at Libra Industries until she retired. She also loved serving the Lord. At the young age of 15 she decided to devote herself to the Lord. As she would say she was a recruiter and soldier for God. Gennie Mae was a devoted member at Noah's Ark Apostolic Church for forty years under the leadership of Bishop Oscar P. Walters. She was a Licensed Missionary, member of the Mother’s board, Sunday School superintendent, financial secretary, President of the Nurses Guild and a member of the Usher Board. Her favorite song was “Through it All”. She is survived by her sisters Ruth (Cleophes) Hodges, and Juanita Daniels, brother Charles McGuire, a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Proceeding death by father Hardin McGuire, mother Eddie McGuire, grandmother Josephine Bennett, nephew Virgil McGuire, niece Gina McGuire, and great nephew Daniel Gilliam.
