Linda Kay Greer's Obituary
Linda Kay Greer was born September 16, 1960, to the union of Sam A. Greer and Chrisdell Brooks Greer, in Chicago Illinois. She was the sixth of nine children. Linda’s family relocated to Lexington, MS when she was a child. Linda was preceded in death by both her parents and one brother.
After graduating high school, Linda moved to Detroit, MI, and worked at Michigan Bell for a number of years before moving to Jackson, Michigan to join her Church of God family where she has continued to reside for many years. She recently retired from the State of Michigan after close to 30 years of employment there.
Linda was a loving and giving person. She had a great sense of humor, always told it like it was, and made everyone laugh. She enjoyed playing scrabble and loved to cook, especially baking, and trying out her own recipe ideas. She found great pleasure in cooking for others and lending a helping hand in any way she could.
Linda lived her faith, unmovable, steadfast, and firmly planted in her faith and trust in the one she loved most, her Lord and Savior. She was deeply loved and will be missed greatly by her family, her extended church family, and friends.
Linda was blessed with a large and loving family who will cherish her precious memory, including four sisters: Carmen (Bernard) Lewis, Gladys (Napoleon) Robinson, Cheryl Miller, Lavette (Charles) Arnold, and four brothers: Timothy Greer, Curtis (Angie) Greer, Melvin Greer, Milton (Francis) Greer, and a big host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews, cousins, and close family friends, all of whom were special to her.
Linda’s Church of God extended family, near and far, mourns with her family in the passing of our dear sister in Christ.
