Lillian Mae Davis' Obituary
Lillian Mae Davis was born to the union of the late Withro B. & Ella V. Davis on December 11, 1916. Lillian was an only child. Lillian was relocated to Detroit from Greensboro, North Carolina when she was just a toddler.
Lillian accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized and worshiped at Clinton Street Greater Bethlehem Temple under the leadership of the late Bishop Hancock.
Lillian loved to play the piano. She played for several churches, and also gave piano lessons for many years. She was educated in the Detroit Public School System and graduated from Miller Jr. High and Eastern High School.
Lillian met and married the late James H. McLean in 1949. To this union six children were born. Lillian was preceded in death by five of her sons; Leon G., Eugene H., Walter B. and James E. McLean. Lillian took pride in being a homemaker and mother of six children. She was deeply rooted in her faith and her favorite past times were cooking and crocheting.
Lillian lived life to the fullest, and she leaves a legacy of memories to one son; Alfred R. McLean and one daughter Ella M. McLean-Dandridge, thirty one grandchildren, thirty six great-grand children, six great-great grandchildren, two daughter-in-law’s; Victoria Blount-McLean and Barbara J. McLean, godson; Leslie M. Blount, and a host of cousins and friends.
