Lewis Berten Moss, Jr.'s Obituary
Lewis Berten Moss Jr., also known as (Baby Lewis & Uncle Bobby) was born August 27, 1944 to the union of Lewis Sr. and Ella (Joplin) Moss in Villa Ridge, Illinois. He accepted Christ at a early age under the late Elder B T Rimson.
In 1953, Lewis relocated to Jackson, Michigan. Lewis first job was at Frys and Bucks’. In 1975, Lewis started a new career path at Modern Machine, where he devoted over thirty-three years and later retired in 2008.
Lewis was a member of the American Legion Sauk Trail Post where he helped with the back to school giveaway supplies for those in need, and various other activities hosted for the Jackson Community. In his leisure time he enjoyed being in his garden, tidying up his car and house which if you knew him, he was a perfectionist when it came to it. He loved to cook and host family functions with his signature baked beans that were always on the menu and were a hit every time. His delicious peanut butter cookies were another favorite which he would make upon special request.
You could also catch Lewis cruising the streets with his one black glove gripping the steering wheel and his seat slightly tilted back in his seat because he just knew he was hip. You always knew he was coming because he drove slowly down the street waving and honking his horn at everyone he knew and he knew just about everybody. He would pull up jamming to the latest tunes nodding his head with a big grin.
