Larry Bruce Parker's Obituary
Larry Bruce Parker, age 74, of Jackson, Michigan passed away after an extended illness on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at The Veterans Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Larry was born December 6, 1944 in Jackson, Michigan. He was a graduate of Jackson High School where he was active in sports being an award-winning swimmer and diver. He successfully served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Larry worked at several companies throughout the years, but his most rewarding years of employment were at the Otsego Apartments, where he retired as the Maintenance Supervisor and was loved dearly by all tenants! Larry was preceded in death by his father and mother; Oveda S. Fowler- Parker and Grover C. Parker, his son; Larry B. Parker, Jr, and three siblings; Brenda Parker-Grubbs, Grover Cliff (Anne) Parker, and Michael (DoBaby) Parker. He leaves to cherish his memory, children; Crystal Al-Shatti of Kuwait, Jeanetta Lee (Lorenzo) of Washington D.C., Barbara Parker of Jackson, Jeanine Bowen of NYC, Shawn Mabrey of Chicago, Robyn Thornton of Jackson, Margo Spencer of Kalamazoo, DaShanda and DaShell Truman, both of Flint, and Bobbie Parker, (daughter-in-law) of Lansing, Michigan, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, siblings; Oveda (Carol) (Lee) Lewis of Stafford, Virginia, Arletha Parker of Ann Arbor, Sheila (Michael) Matthews of Battle Creek, Dennis (Diana) Parker of Jackson, Darrow (Kathy) Parker of Alma, Toni Dungy of Jackson, all of Michigan, very special friends; Steve Murray, Roger Pearl, Richard Poole, a former spouse and dear friend Barbara J. Bowen, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
