LaJuan Aaron Phillips' Obituary
His Journey…
LaJuan Aaron Phillips was born to the union of Sheila B. Phillips and the late, Larry A. Phillips on May 24, 1982 at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He received his early education in Detroit Public Schools as well as Bethesda Christian School in Warren, Michigan. He graduated as an honor roll student in June of 2000 from the High School of Commerce and Business Administration.
LaJuan furthered his education in Fort Wayne, Indiana at Taylor University, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems in 2004. He later attended the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University, receiving a Master’s Degree in Networking and Communications Management in 2009.
He started his IT career in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2004 at Ash Brokerage, moving from there to Aunt Millie’s Bakeries in 2008, and then working for Ruoff Home Mortgage in 2015 until 2017. From there, he moved to Westfield, Indiana in the summer of 2017 to work as a Senior Network Administrator and then transitioned to his current position as IT Security Manager at IMMI in July of 2022.
Accepting Christ at an early age, his Christian Faith was nurtured and developed while attending Greenfield Church of God and Grace Community Church of Detroit with his parents. Through the years he supported several ministries, singing in the Fowler Family Choir, the Fort Wayne Community Choir and his home church choirs. He was a dedicated member and has served in numerous capacities for New Life Church of God in Fort Wayne, Indiana for the past 22 years.
LaJuan’s gifts and talents truly made room for him. His passion for singing, traveling and enjoying life was evident in all that he did. He loved his family and friends and would do anything and go anywhere for them. He also loved being a part of and attending the Fowler Family Retreat, the Auls Family Reunion and the Burson-Smith Family Reunion. He had an affinity for games, especially 5 Crowns with his mom, aunts and cousins. His famous phrases were; “Count Your Cards”, “Stop Cheating” & “I’m Playing To Win!” because he was so competitive! And he possessed a Heart of Gold with a big personality that was extremely impactful, Bar None!!
LaJuan, as of December 6, 2022, has officially left the building and logged off eternally!!!
Preceding him in death were his grandparents; Levoid, Sr. and Mildred Vickers and Napolean and Bertha Phillips, aunts; Patricia Phillips, Linda Phillips, Vena Shelton, Marilyn Brown, Shirley Franklin and Hazel Swain, uncles; Danny Vickers and Carl Phillips, cousins; Sedera Butts, Vanina Batiste, Darnell Vickers and Levoid Vickers, III, and his God-brother; Jonathan Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mom; Sheila B. Phillips, his brother; Larry N. Phillips (Shavonne), his niece; Nova Reine Monette, his nephew; Jackson, Mama Marsh, his sisters; Tametris, Camille, Nicole, Jennifer, Heather, Tanganyika, Jovita and Antoinette, his brothers; Alphonso, Jeremy, Anthony Farr, Sean, Joshua and Charles, God-Parents; June Purifoy and Joyce Glenn, god-babies; Sydnee, Jamal, Timothy, Jocelyn, Lauren, Robyne, Kenn’Ya, Austin, Marrya, Marlee, and The Three Kings and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and a large extended family across the world that will miss him dearly.
