Kevin Johnson's Obituary
Kevin Johnson was born August 9, 1962 from the marriage of
Levi Johnson, Jr. and Jean Johnson in Detroit, Michigan.
Kevin accepted Christ at an early age to be his Lord and Savior. Kevin
attended New Liberty Apostolic Church and Peoples Community Church.
Kevin graduated from Cooley High School class of 1982. After Graduation,
he pursued a career in music. He was responsible for creating many touring
local Michigan Bands and Singing Groups. Kevin performed with these acts in
venues all across the state and was a musical producer and a keyboard player
for churches in the metro area. Kevin was an accomplished songwriter and
published many musical projects. Kevin played multiple instruments such as
piano, organ, synthesizers, drums, harmonica, and percussions.
Kevin was featured on many local television shows and was written up in the
Detroit Free Press as an up and coming Musical Prodigy. Of all his accolades
in music; he was most proud of his family which started with his first love;
Sharry Lehnert, with daughter; Stephanie Queen being the apple of his eye, he
was then blessed with two boys; Jordan Isaiah and Grant Brandon Johnson.
Kevin was the True definition of Amazing Father, Brother and Friend.
You could call on him when you were in need of anything. He was as selfless
as one could be. Kevin migrated from Michigan to the Las Vegas Area to get
a new lease on life where he worked for the City of North Las Vegas in the
Transportation Department.
Kevin is preceded in death by his parents; Jean Johnson and Levi Johnson,
and his brother; Lavell Johnson, and leaves behind his daughter; Stephanie;
and two sons; Jordan and Grant and a grandson; Anthony, five sisters; Sophia,
Myra (Orlando) Jones, Yvette (Jesse) Hardy, Angeline and Bernadine, one
brother; Orrin Johnson (Kelly), and a host of nephews and nieces and relatives
and friends who loved him very much.
