Kenneth Lee Meeks' Obituary
The earthly life of Kenneth Lee Meeks came to an end on February 9, 2016. Kenneth was born November 24, 1937 to the union of the late John and Thelma Meeks, he was preceded in death by his wife; Barbara Meeks and his brother; Edward Eugene Meeks.
Kenneth served in the United States Army Reserve from 1956-1958. After serving his country he went to work for Clark Equipment until they relocated to North Carolina. Kenneth then began working for Tecumseh Products where he later retired from in 2006. He was known for making his morning run to McDonalds to have coffee with his buddies; he also made time to check in on his family and friends that were sick and shut in.
Kenneth joined Second Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the pasturage of the late Rev. Mark Carrington in the late 40’s. He is survived by four children; Kelvin and Terry Meeks of Jackson, Michigan, Clifton Meeks (Rita) of Atlanta, Georgia, and one daughter; Sherrie (Dwayne) Campbell of Jackson, Michigan, one brother-in-law; Thomas (Joyce) Duffey, two sisters-in-law; Larene Hill and Brenda Duffey of Russellville, Kentucky, nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
