I was introduced to Juanita through her sister Marline around 1986. What I remember most, was how Juanita welcomed me into her home and the warm spirit she possessed. After I moved from Detroit, we occasionally surprised one another with a Christmas card greeting. To the Dortch and Cole families, please accept my condolences on the passing of Mrs. Juanita Dortch-Cole. May you find comfort in the fond memories you share as a family. Please know her spirit and legacy will remain throughout generations, continuing in the hearts of the family she has nurtured and inspired. Juanita was my mom's first born niece. Daughter of my aunt, my mom's oldest sister. Juanita had the artistic abilities that her mom had. She had beautiful handwriting. Her typewriting skills were phenomenal back when the old typewriters were around. She loved voicing her opinion on current affairs. Most of all my cousin will be truly missed.
