Johnnie Mack Smith's Obituary
Johnnie Mack Smith, Sr. was born November 30, 1955 in Albion, Michigan. He was the third child of Willie Frank Smith, Sr. and Frankie Bell Smith. He rededicated his life to the Lord, Jesus Christ. He departed this life on Friday, August 19, 2016, in Albion, Michigan. He attended Faith Temple Church (of Jackson, Michigan), under the leadership of Apostle Johnny Walker.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents; Willie Frank Smith, Sr. and Frankie Bell Smith, oldest brother; Willie Frank Smith, Jr., previous wife; Meralyn Smith and his son; Johnny Mack “John John” Smith, Jr.
Johnnie was united in marriage to Ingrid Hicks on February 26, 2005. They were the parents of four children. To provide for his family Johnnie was employed as a Paving Operator with Thompson McCauley Construction Company. He also held various jobs in the Albion community, including Union Steel Industries and Tender care of Albion to name a few.
Johnnie shared a very special relationship with his mother as a young boy, which made him very passionate about family. He loved his children and grandchild, dearly. He took great pride in playing ball with his boys and arguing with his girls, no matter the topic; it could be about sports, politics or even the weather. Outside of family, Johnnie was a big sports fanatic he particularly enjoyed football and basketball. Those that knew him knew his favorite teams were the University of Michigan and the Detroit Lions, whether they won or lost!
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife; Ingrid Smith, two daughters; Dana Monique and Mariah LaShay Smith, one son; Michael Ja’Son Smith, one grandson; Willie Frank “Frankie” Smith, III, four sisters; Annie Lois Smith, Annie Nora (Bill) Smith, JoAnn and Linda Nina (Ricardo) Smith Cummings, his godson/nephew; Caleb Cummings, a special nephew; Jason “JB” Munson, mother-in-law; Cleopatra Hicks, father-in-law; Alvin J. (Bertha) Smith, four sisters-in-law; Cynthia (Barry) White, Anita Hicks, Lisa Hicks, and Lynette Hunt, brother-in-law; Brian Hicks, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.
