Joanne Deloris Johnson's Obituary
Our community sadly lost a pillar on Tuesday,January 16, 2024, when Mrs. Joanne Deloris Johnson, favorably known as "Auntie," passed away from natural causes. She loved taking care of people, which led to her career as a nurse at Highland Park General Hospital, later transitioning to Henry Ford Hospital. She loved to garden and kept an immaculate house.
Joanne was born in Macon, Georgia, the youngest of 11 children to Josephine and Henry Turner, Sr., all of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Roy Clemons, and a host of nieces and nephews, and extended family.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with, especially her niece, Sandra Battle, who cared for her in her later years, and with whom she spent her hoJidays until our Lord called her home.
