Janet Sue Parker's Obituary
Janet S. Parker (Vanderburg), age 55, passed away Sunday September 24, 2017 in the arms of her loving husband at their home, after a long and courageous battle against cancer. She was surrounded by devoted parents and cherished family and friends at her side. She was born May 5, 1962 in Jackson Michigan.
Janet graduated from Jackson High School in 1980. Following a senior year internship, Janet built a 38-year career in the Accounting Department with Alro Steel Corporation. Her loyalty and conscientious work ethic earned the respect of all who worked with her. She greatly appreciated the support of her many dear friends and colleagues during her illness.
Janet met her sweetheart, Eugene Parker, while at Jackson High School. He became her friend and the love of her life, and they have been married for twenty-four years. Family and caregivers noted Eugene’s tender care and devotion to Janet and the great comfort it provided her.
She is survived by her husband; Eugene Parker, her parents; Richard and Barbara Vanderburg of Jackson, Michigan, a brother; Martin (Sandy) Vanderburg, of Chesterfield Township, Michigan, a sister; Linda (Kevin) Mullen of Kewadin, Michigan, mother-in-law; Theresa Parker, brothers-in law, Mark (Juanice) Parker and Barron Parker and numerous nieces and nephews.
