Jacob Louis Grant, Jr.'s Obituary
Born on February 16, 1955 in Elyria Ohio, Jacob Lewis Grant, Jr. was eagerly welcomed by his parents Jacob Grant, Sr. and Mary Emma Grant (nee Carter). As a boy Jacob had a love for comic books, science fiction, and mischief. He was an accomplished athlete at Midview High School from which he graduated in 1973.
He worked for many years at Ridge Tool. He continued pursuing avenues that would add insight and knowledge to his area of work. Being brought up in a God fearing home, he spent a great deal of time in church where he served as organist for several years.
Jacob had a love for people and adventure that allowed him to make friends wherever he went. This adventurous nature led him to relocate to the greater Detroit area in 1988. In 2000 he was employed by Mitutoyo as a product instructor where he was presently employed. He enjoyed traveling and training companies.
Jacob was ordained at Via De La Rosa Gospel Tabernacle and was currently serving as an elder at True Gospel Tabernacle. The message of Christ’s love and imminent return was his burning passion. This passion inspired him to found The End Time Ministries organization where sermons, seminars, and teachings were conducted. To his church family he became fondly known as, “EJ”, Elder Jacob.
Jacob was preceded in death by his parents; Deacon Jacob and Mary Grant, his sister; Mary Louise Grant, and his brother; Elder Willis Paul Grant.
On April 10, 2017, “EJ”, transitioned to be with his Lord and Savior.Left to cherish his memory are his sister; Jean Fortune (nee Grant) of Elyria, Ohio, nephew; Adrian Fortune of Elyria, Ohio, niece; Alicia (Robert) Curry of Columbus, Ohio, niece; Janina Simmons (Jordan Simmons) of Lorain, Ohio, great nieces; Jazmine and Cameron Dewberry and great nephews; Davan and Justan Dewberry.
