Helen Irene James' Obituary
Helen Irene James was born to Wilbert and Helen Maxine James on February 26, 1951. Helen was the third oldest child.
She professed her life to Christ at an early age. As a lifelong member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Helen taught Sunday School for about thirty years to the primary and junior aged students until illness overcame her.
Helen was educated in the Detroit Public School System graduating from Southwestern High School in 1969. She also attended Highland Park Community College, Marygrove College and Henry Ford College where she earned her Bachelor Degree in Accounting.
After thirty years of service to the Federal Reserve Bank, Helen retired.
Helen loved to bake!! She made the BEST German Chocolate Cakes, Cheesecakes, Pound Cakes and Fudge Brownies all from scratch!
She enjoyed traveling and being around her family and friends. Helen was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory, her son; Jonathan Sr., beloved grandchildren; Kayla, Jonathan Jr, Kennedy and Vision, a loving sister Alberta Ford, sister-in-law; Bernice James in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters in love and good friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her father; Wilbert James Sr., mother; Helen Maxine James, brothers; Wilbert James Jr, Charles James Sr. and Johnny James Sr. in addition to sister-in-law; LaBertha James and brother-in-law; Charles Edward Ford Sr.
Helen has gone on to join the heavenly family so let us let us rejoice in her homegoing to the Kingdom of Heaven.
