Harvey Lee Love's Obituary
Harvey Lee Love was the oldest child, born to Harvey Nash Love and Allene Love. He was born September 9,1949, in Jackson, MI. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carolyn Love.
Harvey passed away July 2, 2024, after being under the loving care of his family.
He is survived by his dedicated wife Barbara Diane Love, of 19 years, together 35 years, and his children, Katrina Plummer, Harvey Love Jr, Kianna Lawson, Corneilius Lawson and a special daughter in law Myeisha Browning, who was always by his side.
He also leaves to cherish his memory, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved very much, his Father in Law, Samuel Lawson, 6 sisters who loved their only brother dearly, Beverly Belcher (Jerome), Darlene Smith, Ellarene Love, Flossie Love, Linda Morse (Philip) and Lavon Walker, 3 sister in laws, Carolyn Jefferson, Sherry Lawson, Debra Jones (Joe), 1 brother in law, Samuel Lawson Jr and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In his youth, Harvey was an athlete, he liked to fish and ride motorcycles. Harvey was a great provider who was devoted to his family and respected in the community. He was outgoing, loved to laugh and entertain. He hosted big family dinners at his home. He was known to cook anything and make it taste good. His barbecue was tender, delicious and had the best sauce and his “mountain oysters” made people forget what they were. His homemade wine was almost as good as his father's. He found comfort in wearing his denim overalls. He talked junk as he played you in a game of spades or dominoes and he enjoyed sharing childhood memories. In fact, he always had the backstory and could fill in the gaps or share the “tea” regarding family history. Not much slid by Harvey and he didn’t have any problem setting the record straight.
Harvey served in the army and was deployed to the Vietnam War. He also worked at Good Year, Melling Tool, and Kentmore before retiring from Maytag after many years of service.
Harvey’s wife’s sentiments are “I will always miss and love my husband.”
Harvey will truly be missed. He lived a good life. He fought a great fight. Now he will rest. We will love and cherish him forever.
