Grace Mary Love's Obituary
Mother Love was born on June 1, 1937 in Helena Arkansas to Grace Walls and Charlie Jackson. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Jackson of Flint, MI and Daniel Jackson of Saginaw, MI, and one sister, Katherine Camp of Southfield, MI. The family relocated to Saginaw, Michigan. She was educated in the Saginaw school system. At the age of 17 she met J.C. Wilson, and they married a year later. To this union one child, Gregory Jay Wilson was born. Mother loved and nurtured her one child. Her husband preceded her in death.
Later she met and married Raymond Love who preceded her in death in 2008. Mother Love was employed by Ford Motor Company as a supervisor for nearly 20 years. During her last years with the company she decided to return to school. She earned an associate of arts degree and bachelor’s degree in special education from Wayne State University. She was an educator in several school districts around the Metro Detroit area.
She also studied at William Tyndale Bible College and received a bachelor’s degree in religious education. She loved learning and teaching others what she learned. Mother Love was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost under the Leadership of Bishop Fred Lewis. She was a licensed Evangelist Missionary in the Church of God in Christ, and ministered on the local, national and international levels.
Mother Love became a member of New Maclin Temple Church of God in Christ on October 14, 1987 under the leadership of the late Pastor James M. Maclin, Sr.
She was dearly loved by her leaders Pastor James M. Maclin Jr. and Lady Sandra Maclin, and the New Maclin Temple church family. She will be greatly missed. Mother Love was appointed First Assistant Supervisor for Jamaica West, Indies in 1982. During that time she was obedient and faithful to her calling. While serving in Jamaica she was deeply touched in her heart, and saw the need to minister to the “total man.”
In 1984 the Lord inspired Mother Love to establish the Touch of Love Ministries in an effort to further help those in dire need. “For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” Matthew 25:35-36.
Mother loved serving in ministry and worked devotedly and untiringly until her health began to decline.
During her illness her granddaughter Faythe became her caregiver and provided excellent tender loving care.
On January 26, 2023 Mother Love transitioned from labor to reward.
She fought a good fight, she finished her course, she kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for her a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give her at that day; and not to her only, but unto all them also that love His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, one devoted son Elder Gregory Jay Wilson (Yvette) of Detroit, MI, three grandchildren, Faythe Marie Wilson of Detroit, MI, Rashad Jay Wilson (Veronica) of Taylor, MI, Gregory Jay Wilson, Jr. (Giselle) of Southfield, MI; seven great-grandchildren, DeShawn Jay Wilson, DeMaria Jenai Nix, Jaylen Rashad Wilson, Rashad Jay Wilson Jr., Jaya Rashai Wilson, Gabrielle Jai Wilson, and Sole’ Alani Travis; two special nephews, Nathathiel and Daniel Trader; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, and the loving New Maclin Temple Church of God in Christ family.
