Evelyn Jones' Obituary
Evelyn Jones was born on June 5, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to the late John Dorsey and Hannah Mae Pearson, she was the third child of eight children.
When Evelyn was young the family moved to Detroit, Michigan. She attended the Detroit Public School system.She attended Nursing School and became a nurse. Evelyn worked as an LPN until 2012 when she became ill and took a medical retirement.
She then found a new love of arts and crafts, jewelry design, quilting, she made prayer pillows and wreaths for Christmas.
Evelyn received Christ at an early age and attended Holy Tabernacle Church of God and Christ she later attended Southwestern Church of God, in 2005 she found her home at International Gospel Center, she served on the Usher board and later joined the Pastoral choir, she was an active member until illness, she was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Evelyn made her transition from Earth to Glory on Tuesday May 2, 2017 at home under the care of Hospice of Michigan.
Preceding her in death are her parents; John and Hannah Pearson, brothers; Vernon, Allen, Mark, John David and her sister; Valerie.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter; Yolanda Pearson, son; Charles Jones (Amy), grandchildren; Ariel Pearson, Chanel Pearson, Xavier Pearson, Haylee Jones, Jackson Jones, Brooklyn Jones, and great granddaughter; Lola Brown, brother; Kenneth Pearson (Chavela), and a host of friends, nieces and nephews.
