Edmond Roosevelt Williams' Obituary
Edmond Roosevelt Williams was born on January 30, 1950 in Clanton, Alabama. He was the second eldest child of seven children born to Reverend Dr. Roosevelt Williams, Jr. and Alozene Williams. Family members preceding him in death were: his parents, his brother Leroy Williams and his sisters Linda Gail Austin and Marianne Williams.
Edmond was two years old when the Williams family moved to Detroit, Michigan.
Edmond completed his education within the Detroit and Ypsilanti school districts. Being the exceptional scholastic achiever that he was, Edmond was double promoted and graduated at the age of 16 from Ypsilanti High School in 1967. He was qualified to graduate in 1966 with Leroy, but mama wouldn’t let him! Edmond was accepted into the pre-med program at the University of Michigan in 1967. He was a high scholastic achiever maintaining a 4.0 and higher throughout his undergraduate and graduate degrees. Even during his medical internship at Sinai hospital as an assistant surgeon in the ER, doctors were amazed by his brilliance.
He joined the United States Air Force on April 23, 1973 and was honorably discharged on April 14, 1974. He loved his family and cherished the visits when his siblings, nieces and nephews came to see him in San Diego, California. Edmond was a practical joker and loved to make others laugh.
He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory, his sister; Theresa (Eric) Williams, three brothers; Jerome (Jacqueline) Williams, Michael (Evelyn) Williams and Marcus (Alice) Williams,three spiritual adopted sisters; Patsy (Michael) Coleman, Delora Mitchell and Janette Lott, six nieces, nine nephews and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, one great-great niece, one great-great nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
