Duvella M. Rogers' Obituary
Duvella Rogers was born on October 20, 1940 to James Mayfield and Lucenda Cook in Helena, Arkansas both of whom preceded her in death. Duvella was called home on December, 10, 2020 and was preceded in death by her husband; Arthur W. Rogers of forty-four years, her daughter; Valerie Lucenda Mayfield, and her son; Zachary Rogers.Duvella was known as “Aunt Mae,” “Mary”, or “Mae-Mae” to many family and friends. She lived in Jackson for sixty plus years with her husband and her six children. In her years of living in Jackson she attended Second Missionary Baptist Church as a regular member where she served as an Usher for many years. Duvella worked in the Housekeeping Department of Foote Hospital for several years before deciding to be a stay-at-home mother to her children. Duvella loved going fishing, attending bingo games, working on puzzles of any kind, and spending her days visiting with her sisters and friends. Duvella leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters; Lisa of Jackson, Bernice of Jackson, Barbara (Malcolm) Rowry of Ann Arbor, and her sons; Raffael Rogers (Jackson) and Rodney Rogers (Muskegon), her grandchildren; Robbin Ellis Murrell, Jr., Adrianna Renee Rowry, Miya Barham, and Aiyanna Rogers. Duvella was a wife, mother, aunt and grandmother and will be missed by so many including a host of nieces and nephews and some very special friends.
