Dorenna Griggs' Obituary
Dorenna Griggs, AKA Dorease was born in Boyce, Louisiana on May 3, 1932 to the late H.C. Pannell and Rosie Lee Pannell, she was the 5th oldest of six children. Four of them preceded her in death. She leaves her baby sister.
Dorenna accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very early age. After moving to Detroit, Michigan in 1945, Dorenna later met and married Albert Griggs, Jr. who preceded her in death and together the parented four children.
Dorenna was employed through Sinai Hospital in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Dorenna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, bingo and going to the casino’s. Her life was long and satisfying.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving children; Gwendolyn Jones, Patricia Griggs, Beatrice Griggs and Vincent Griggs, her grand children; Stacie Griggs, Michael Griggs and Dymond Griggs, her great grandchildren; Monae Wilson, Janae Morris and Darrold Williams, her sister; Martha Jane Austin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. “Sleep on Dorenna, take your rest, we loved you, but God loved you best” Dorenna departed this life on Wednesday August 5, 2015 in Henry Ford Hospital.
