Clifton Ray Thomas' Obituary
Thomas, Clifton Ray of Jackson, Michigan formally of Chicago, Illinois passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 91 on Tuesday April 13, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 3, 1929 in Rockwall County, Texas.
He served in United States Army from 1951- 1953 in the Korean War Conflict. He was employed at Tip Top Cleaners for many years where he was an amazing cleaner and presser. We could never leave the house with wrinkled clothing. After leaving Tip Top Cleaners he retired from Consumers Energy after working there for 17 years as a custodian.
He was a member of the American Legion Sauk Trail Post #246. Clifton loved playing pool, playing cards and shooting dice and he would always say I’m not a professional but I’m pretty good at it! Clifton was also an avid bowler and bowled on several leagues. He loved watching the Western Chanel and MeTV. You could always catch a good Bonanza or a Walker Texas Ranger marathon if you went to visit any time of day.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Rayford and Laura Thomas, daughter-in-law; Pandora Thomas and daughter; Shianata Thomas.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 62 years; Margie Ann Thomas, sons; Derek (Deanna) Thomas and Terry Thomas, daughter; Lisa (Angelo) Williams, grandchildren; Aaron Thomas, Derick Thomas, Tyler Thomas, Tiffany Thomas, Angelo Williams, Avery Williams, Autume Williams, Alisha “Sugas” Williams and Emanuel Thomas, a host of great grandchildren and very special friend; Johnnie Wilbon.
