Cleophes Hodges' Obituary
Cleophes Hodges passed away on January 29th, 2023 after a battle with cancer. He was born January 24th, 1937 in Wabbaseka, Arkansas, to Moses and Nettie B. Hodges. At a young age the family relocated to Michigan and he resided in Jackson, Michigan until his passing. He loved the Lord, and at an early age he accepted Christ under the leadership of Reverend A.P. Williams.
Cleophes worked many factory jobs, with Hatch stamping being his final job. He worked at Hatch Stamping thirteen years until he retired in 2017. He loved watching sports; basketball, football and boxing. He also loved gambling and enjoyed taking trips to the casino.
Cleophes married Ruth McGuire August 1, 1983. Cleophes loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Nettie B. Hodges, sister, Myrtle, brother, Annise, and son, Virgil. He was also preceded in death by his best friend Jimmy Palmer.
He is survived by his; wife Ruth, three sons; Vince (Deisree) McGuire, Victor McGuire, and Vernon McGuire, one daughter; Velrie (Willie) Allen and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters; Linda, Evon, Teresa, Barbara, Shirley, and Mae Queen, brother; Larry, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
