Charles Clifton Bacon's Obituary
Charles Clifton Bacon age 85 of Kalamazoo, Michigan transition peacefully on Wednesday October 26, 2022 with both of his children by his side. He was born July 29, 1937 in Jackson, Michigan to the union of Charles C Bacon and Mary Grace Harper who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Brenda Bacon Page and his brother Alfred Henry Beacon.
He married Shirley Hodges in 1958 and to that union 2 children were born Charles Henry and Brenda. He married Janet Glaspie in 1969 to that union 1 child was born Michelle Elizabeth. He later married Janet Ray in 1995.
He was a devoted member of several churches in Jackson and Kalamazoo where he resided for 30 years after his retirement in 1998.
He was employed by the Post Office from 1958 to 1970, he opened a Men’s Clothing Store in 1970 in downtown Jackson and in 1976 he opened All State Insurance Office which he owned until his retirement. Charles was a licensed Home Builder, a licensed Financial Consultant, a licensed Insurance Broker as well as a licensed Real Estate Agent.
He loved working in sales and owned multiple properties in both Jackson and Kalamazoo counties. Charles was generous yet stern. He loved his extended family and his kids were his world. He loved boating on his Pontoon boat and family gatherings. He is survived by 2 children Charles Henry Bacon and Michelle Elizabeth Kerns. He also leaves to cherish his memories his grandchildren; Marshawn Bacon, Tamire Bacon, Jalen Page, KyOnna Bacon, Kathryn Bacon, Lamar Littlejohn, Jamaal Buckner, and Jacob Kern his little buddy.
He’ll also be missed by special friends Sandy Charleston (cousin), Robert and Rosilind Stevens and his old friend Cle Hodges. We were all grateful and touched by his presence and he’ll be greatly missed by many.
