Brenda Jean Gardner's Obituary
Brenda Duffield Gardner was blessed by God with her angel wings on October 27, 2015. She passed peacefully into Heaven for a sweet reunion with her mother, Eugyne (Jean) and brother, Leon. She suffered a brief illness with her beloved daughter DeShawn (DJ) Johnson and her devoted sister Paulette Duffield by her side.
Born the daughter of Eugyne and Aloe Duffield on March 4, 1943, Brenda graduated from Jackson High School in 1962. She worked several years caring for others as a Nurse's Aide at Mercy Hospital. She later worked many years at Mechanical Products.
Brenda was a gracious, God-filled woman who found the good in every person or situation. She was a friend to all she met with her gentle ways and kind words. God blessed her with a sweetness that few others possess. She was a true reflection of her faith and lived her life serving Him. She was a proud, lifelong member of Community A.M.E. Church.
Besides her daughter and sister, Brenda is survived by her brother Aldino Cright, of Battle Creek; nephews; great nephews and several cousins. She will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched.
