Bonny Coats' Obituary
It is merely a blessing that by God’s grace and mercy, many great stars are born throughout the world. However, one beautiful day during the fall in Albion, Michigan when the colorful leaves were falling, LC Coats and Willie Lee Coats were blessed with a shining star. This star, Bonny Joy Coats, born October 31, 1965, made a joyful day complete for this blessed couple. Because this baby girl brought so much joy and happiness to their lives. For this reason, they viewed her as a shining star.
As a shining star, Bonny experienced success in completing her formal educational training in the Albion Public School system. She was a humble servant who wanted to help somebody. She also enjoyed going to church and serving the Lord. She proudly viewed herself as “The One” because she strongly felt that she was chosen to make a difference in someone's life.
She was blessed to have had employment opportunities at At&T, Lear, a Pickle Factory, fast food restaurants, and nursing homes. Bonny enjoyed family time, organizing Christmas Eve celebrations, fishing, and consuming Pepsi with extra ice.
This shining star is proudly walking around God’s throne chatting with her parents, grandparents, a brother, a niece, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who graciously welcome her to her heavenly home.
Her precious memories will be honored and mourned by her children; Kendria (Marcus) Robinson- of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan and Lafayette Coats- of Battle Creek, Michigan; six grandchildren: Marcus Robinson, III, Carter Robinson, Ali Coats, Tristan Coats, Elijah Coats, and Ah’zayla Coats. One brother, Jowel Coats of Jackson, Michigan: She had seven sisters; Willy (Eric) Baldwin of Jackson, Michigan, Maggie Coats of Albion, Michigan, Crystal Coats of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Carolyn Brewer (Lonnie) of Albion, Michigan, April (James) Porter of Albion, Michigan, Ruby Coats of Albion, Michigan, and Luevina (Tyree) of Albion, Michigan; Five aunts: Dr. Janice Coats-Hardy of Albany, Ga, Gloria Coats of Miami, Florida, Janet Squaire of Albion, Michigan, Mary Alice Davis of Jackson, Michigan; and Louise Franklin of Detroit, Michigan: two uncles; Thomas (Grace) Coats of Jacksonville, Florida and Arnold Coats of Miami, Florida. In addition to family members, she had two very close friends; Sirrena Smith, Clara Cook along with a Goddaughter, Ashley Seals.
If Bonny, the shining star was in our midst, she would say “ weep not, weep no more” just let your little light shine like a bright star in making preparations for the kingdom of God
