Birdie Bell Briggs' Obituary
Birdie Bell Briggs (Goodwin) of Jackson, Michigan, was born in Dresden, Tennessee to Robert and Sallie Scates on July 14, 1919. She was the youngest and sole remaining sibling of five children.
She passed away November 9, 2016, at the age of 97, at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility. Birdie was a member of Community A.M.E. Church.
She was preceded in death by six sons; Shamire Gene, Albert Gary, Frank Bell, Ernest, Mayka, and David Jamin Goodwin.
She is survived by three children; Sallee Arnold of Georgia, Michael Goodwin, and Benita Henry, both of Jackson, Michigan, one nephew; Donald Scott, of Jackson, Michigan, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, cousins and friends.
