Barry Neal Surratt's Obituary
Barry Neal Surratt, peacefully passed away at the age of fifty-eight years old in Denver, Colorado on Monday, June 26, 2017. He was born on May 3, 1959 in Henderson, Tennessee to Mr. & Mrs. Connie Surratt. He was one of three children.
He attended Jackson Public Schools and was also a member of the Church of Christ until he moved to Denver, where he attended Colorado Christian Fellowship.
Barry enjoyed beautiful things including fine cars, dressing to impress, basketball, traveling, and jazz music. The best description of Barry would be his kind heart, great sense of humor, his loyalty to his friends, and above all, his love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his father; Mr. Connie R. Surratt and his brother; Dewayne Surratt.
Barry is survived by his devoted wife; Joy, who faithfully cared for her ailing husband for the last five years, his mother; Dorothy Marie Surratt, three children; Barry Lamar, Daddy's Angel, Symone Marie, and Joie, the mother of his two oldest children; Elaine, his sister; Miranda Rena (whom Barry lovingly called Big Bo), brother; Connie R. Surratt, Jr., niece; Brittany Marie, two nephews; Nichalas Dupree and Damarian, Mother-in-Law; Jacquelyn Jackson, Sister-in-Law; Mia Harris, four Brothers-inLaw; James, Jeffrey, Joel, and Jon, six grandchildren; LaDarrius, Dijuarie, Ajun, Elajah, Da'jhun, and Symera, a special caretaker; Bridgett Barrett, and his faithful companion, his dog, Daddy's girl; Ginger.
To Barry; Although you will be greatly missed, we will forever cherish all the good times and fun memories with you. Rest in peace in your heavenly home, where there is no more pain or suffering. We love you.
