Anthony Lee Sumner's Obituary
OBITUARY
Anthony (Tony) Lee Sumner was born in Indianapolis, IN on
December 31, 1952. He was the third child born to the late
Horace Daniel and Constance Sumner. His early education
started in Indianapolis, IN. In 1964, his family moved to
Jackson, MI. While in Jackson, Tony attended Parkside High
School where he graduated with honors. After graduating,
Tony decided to serve his country by joining the Air Force.
While in the military he became an Aircraft Maintenance
Technician. Tony also took great pride in working as a Disc
Jockey on several military bases during his tenure in the
military. He spent several years in Taipei, Taiwan, which he
often spoke fondly of. Tony was a Sergeant in the Air Force
when he received an honorable discharge after 10 years of
service. He also spent many years as a Master Mason. Once
retired, he purchased a beautiful home in Sacramento, CA
where he resided for many years.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents Horace Daniel and
Constance Sumner, and his siblings Elaine Marie Rogers,
Daniel Eugene Sumner (Helena Sumner-living), and Robert
Clay Sumner. Left to cherish his memories are his sisters:
Bishop Dr. Tonya Lynn Sumner Brown (Lester Brown), Ella Sue
Parker-White (Lawrence White), and Satin Monique Sumner;
brothers: Alexander Ray Sumner (Sandy Sumner), and Brian
Keith Sumner. His children are also left to honor his precious
memories: Talitha Sumner, TaShawna Sumner, Janja
Davidson, and Anthony Lee Sumner, Jr. (AJ). His
grandchildren: Kennedy McCassie, Kolton Davidson, Norah
Davidson, and others who couldn’t be contacted. In addition,
he left behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-
nephews, and cousins. Also, a special friend to the family Sue
Ann Suddeth, and special caregivers and friends Antionette
R. Tate and Saffron Lancaster.
