Alvin Brooks' Obituary
Alvin Thomas Brooks was born February 15th, 1947 in Detroit Michigan to the union of Florizella and John S. Brooks. To this union three children were born; John Lee, Gladys and Alvin.
Alvin’s parents, siblings and the love of his life Laureen Brooks preceded him in death.
Alvin went through school and was hired by Chrysler where he worked for a short period of time, until he decided to exchange his Chrysler work boots for General Motors. Alvin eventually retired from General Motors in 1995 and he began focusing on his family and the Lord.
He accepted Christ earlier on in his life and later became a member of Eastside Church of God under the leadership of Elder William K. Lane. Alvin later joined the Men’s Choir where he would lead his favorite selection “Going to Heaven to Meet the King”. Although his ailments hindered him from attending the mass, Alvin kept the lord close.
Alvin spent his last days with family being nursed, prayed for and loved. It was the morning of September 24th 2020; he took his final breaths of this world. Now he breathes and sings with the Lord with no more worries or cares.
He leaves behind his six children to keep his memory alive; Angela Jones, Raymone Britton, Shapassha Brooks, Destinee Brooks, Brittanee Brooks, and Keeyla Walker, fifteen grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
