Raleigh Edward Oliver

June 10, 1935 - October 5, 2015

Raleigh Edward Oliver, son of the late Edward and Viney Oliver passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015. Raleigh was born in Sylvania, Georgia on June 10, 1935. Raleigh served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954-1957 and was a member of the American Legion #246. He was united to Ella Jean Husband in holy matrimony on November 29, 1959. From this union they raised six children; she was a loyal and devoted wife until his death. Raleigh was employed by Oldsmobile for five years and Clark Equipment for twenty-seven years. He mentored many of his nephews and grandkids. He enjoyed doing carpentry work for family and friends, he was an avid cook at home and church. He loved collecting cars and was a great business entrepreneur. He accepted Christ as his personal savior and was a faithful member of Greater Philadelphia C.O.G.I.C. He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife; Mrs. Ella Jean Oliver of Jackson, Michigan, three daughters; Letitia Dupree of Washington, D.C., Kimberley (Rodney) Edwards, Teresa Oliver, daughter-granddaughter; Learia (Brandon) Weller all of Jackson, Michigan; three sons; Jeffrey (Monica) Oliver, Michael (Troycie) Oliver and Willie Oliver all of Jackson, Michigan, three sisters; Mrs. Wilhelmena Byrd of Jacksonville, Florida, Ms. Wilmotine Oliver and Mrs. Janet Nichols of Kalamazoo, Michigan, five brothers; Elward Oliver, Wendell Oliver, Lynard Oliver, Rodell Oliver and James Oliver all of Jackson, Michigan, thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives. He was loved by many and he loved his “Jean”. *Special thanks to Brother Bernard Oliver*
